Hall Hire  
   
 

The Downs Lawn Tennis Club (DLTC) includes a hall, which is a popular venue for functions of all kinds. The hall is available for hire by members and non-members of DLTC, and can hold up to 80 people.

If you would like to hire the hall, then you should apply to the Club Steward. If the hall is available, the hirer will be asked to complete a booking form and pay a deposit.

There are concessionary rates for members of the Club, and children’s parties held in the afternoon, for which the hall is let for 2 hours. Current rates (which include VAT) are as follows:

 

Our fully licensed hall is available for hire at the following rates: 

-  to non-members:  £45 per hour (plus £100 refundable deposit )

-  to members: £90 for the evening

-  for Children’s afternoon birthday parties:  £50 flat fee

 

1.  Bookings are confirmed only with the completion of the booking form and payment of the deposit. (You will be given a copy of the form). The deposit is non-returnable if you cancel the booking within eight weeks of the event.

2.  The total hire charge must be paid at least one week prior to the date of hire. An additional charge may be made for damage or breakages that occur during the event.

3.   For the avoidance of doubt the hire applies to the hall only and the non-exclusive use of the patio; it does not include the members’ bar or other grounds of the club.

4.  The hall may be hired for up to a maximum of 80 people.

5.   As we are sited in a residential area, we have to consider our neighbours. The hall cannot therefore be hired for 13-21 year old parties, or events involving very loud music. For this reason, we do not offer bar extensions; the bar closes at 11:00 p.m. and the hall must be vacated by midnight.

6.   Club prices on drinks are available on hall hirings by DLTC members
